Two ways to delete your account
GhostTrace lets you delete your account and all associated data at any time, either directly from the mobile app (recommended) or by emailing our support team if you no longer have access to the app.
Option 1 — From the mobile app
Open GhostTrace → tap the Profile tab at the bottom → scroll down to the Account section → tap Delete Account → confirm the action. Your account, flight sessions, drones, pilot profile, and any cached files are removed immediately from your device and from our servers.
Option 2 — By email
If you no longer have access to the app or your device, send a deletion request to privacy@ghosttracefpv.com from the email address linked to your account. To prevent abuse we may ask for an additional element to confirm ownership (for example, the approximate creation date of the account). Email-based deletion requests are processed within 30 days; you will receive a confirmation when the deletion is complete.
What gets deleted
Pilot profile (callsign, settings, preferences). All flight sessions you recorded or imported, including telemetry samples, GPS tracks and detected events. Drone hangar entries (specs, motor / battery / receiver details, custom names). Authentication records linked to your account (email, hashed password, OAuth identifiers). Files we cached in our object storage on your behalf (flight sample blobs).
What we keep — and why
Anonymous, aggregated analytics (e.g. number of sessions per app version, anonymised crash reports) — used to improve the App. These records do not identify you. Server logs containing IP addresses and timestamps — kept for up to 90 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes, then purged automatically. Encrypted backups of our database — purged on a rolling 30-day cycle. Records that French or European law requires us to keep (for example invoicing data if you ever buy an in-app subscription) — kept for the legally mandated retention period.
Effect on the app on your device
Deleting your account from within the app also wipes the local database (flight sessions, drones, cached data) and signs you out. After deletion you can keep using the app in guest mode, or create a new account at any time — but the previous account and its data are not recoverable.
