Reading the curves
Each curve follows one measure over the whole flight. The figure on its right is the value at the playhead; beside its name, the lowest and highest of the flight (“0 → 118”). Red bands mark the moments the radio link dropped.

- GPSSatellites in view. 8 or more for a position you can trust.
- AltitudeHeight above the take-off point: barometer when the quad has one, GPS otherwise.
- BatteryPack voltage, and per cell underneath. A LiPo is full at 4.2 V a cell, to be spared below 3.5 V, damaged below 3.3 V.
- UsedCapacity used since take-off, to compare with your pack’s (e.g. 1300 mAh). Landing around 80 % of it keeps the pack healthy.
- CurrentCurrent drawn at this instant. It climbs with throttle: spikes on punch-outs are normal.
- RSSIStrength of the radio signal the quad receives, in dBm. Closer to 0 is better; around −90 dBm the link nears its limit.

The flight in full screen
Turn your phone sideways. The map and the curves fill the screen, and the drone flies its route again. On a tablet, you see both at once.
A short text about each flight
With an account, each flight gets a short text that sums it up. You also get the name of the spot and the weather.

Open a .bbl file. You can replay the flight on Android or on a computer.
Live from your radio
Plug your radio into your phone with a USB cable. The signal, the battery and the GPS are recorded while you fly.
The GhostTrace BLE bridge
Your radio has no USB output? A small ESP32 board picks up the data from your ELRS module. It sends it to your phone over Bluetooth. You install it from the Android app, or from this site on a computer.
Your drones
Write down the motors, the battery and the frame of each drone. Each flight is filed with its drone.
Your logbook
Add notes and photos to your flights. You also see your totals: flight time, distance, top speed, highest altitude.
Find your drone
The drone's last GPS position is kept. If you lose sight of it, GhostTrace leads you to it with an arrow, the distance and a compass.

To record live, you need a radio and a module that support it. Blackbox import works with everything.
Which radios can record live over USB?

Recording live needs an ELRS or Crossfire module. The BLE bridge works with every radio, as long as it has an ELRS 3.4 or newer module with the Backpack. Blackbox import works with every radio.
Do I have to switch from OpenTX to EdgeTX?
Not necessarily. On a Jumper T16/T18, TX16S or Horus, updating to OpenTX 2.3.15 is enough — your models and settings stay untouched. Then pick USB Mode → “Telem” when plugging the cable. Other OpenTX radios (Taranis X9D, Q X7, …) do need EdgeTX for USB telemetry.
Is the TBS Tango 2 or Mambo supported?
Live recording is not possible: their FreedomTX firmware has no USB telemetry mode, and EdgeTX never supported these radios. Blackbox import works normally.
Do I need an ELRS or Crossfire module?
Yes, for live telemetry: the app decodes CRSF, the protocol used by ExpressLRS and TBS Crossfire/Tracer. FrSky, Flysky or DJI links do not produce a CRSF stream, regardless of the radio firmware.
My radio has no USB output. What can I do?
Use the GhostTrace BLE bridge. It is a small ESP32 board, powered over USB. It picks up the telemetry from your ELRS module and sends it to your phone over Bluetooth. Your module needs the Backpack: set Backpack to ON and Telemetry to ESPNOW. You can also import your blackbox (.bbl) files. That works with every radio, with no live link.
Is there an iPhone version?
An iOS app is in development. Until it ships, an iPhone pilot can still use GhostTrace from a computer: the web app imports blackbox logs, keeps the hangar and holds the flight log. Recording live from the radio is the Android app.
Do I have to install anything?
No. app.ghosttracefpv.com opens in your computer's browser, with your account. You can import your .bbl files, manage your drones and look at your flights. To record live from your radio, you need the Android app. The demo higher up this page works even without an account.
